Conference Information & Guide
Although most faculty presenters will be able to provide modifications, only you know best what works for your body / mind. YOGA, the Conference and Show encourages participants to select classes that include a variety of activity and reflection/meditation. We hope you find the following guidelines helpful.
- All Levels: These classes are for participants of all abilities, levels, disciplines and interests.
- Meditation / Breath / Contemplation: Some or part of this class will be meditative, breath work or contemplation
- Teacher Training: Teachers, Teacher’s in training and participants with an interest in the course material are all welcome to attend, usually some lecture.
- Therapeutic: Teachers, Teacher’s in training and participants with an interest in the course material are all welcome to attend, usually some lecture.
- Advanced Beginner: For this level and beyond, should be comfortable with sun salutations and basic/essential poses.
- Intermediate: Suited for participants who have developed an understanding of the fundamental principles of yoga practice; balance, steadiness and endurance and are interested in refining their practice.
- Advanced: For participants who have committed to a constant practice and have developed a conscious working relationship with their body/mind.
Participation Options and Fees
You may simply select any classes you wish. There are no package prices. Your sub-total will reflect the price per hour of all of the classes you have selected. This provides you much more freedom to move around the conference as you need.
Prices
All Class/workshops are range in price from $19.99 to $36.00 per hour. As more hours are selected the rate per hour decreases. A workshop from 9-4 pm would be considered a 6 hour workshop. A workshop from 9-11 am would be a 2 hour workshop.
Class Changes
There is no fee for any online class changes you make yourself. This does not include the removal of a class(s) from your original selection. If your change requires a refund, you must read through refunds and cancellations. To make a class change, Click Here and enter your email address and password where it says "Have you already registered as an attendee for Toronto 2013 or a previous event?.(once registration has opened)
There is a $10 over the phone class change charge and a $10 class change charge on site from March 21- March 24, 2013
Getting there and away and parking: There is parking in and around the MTCC, for MTCC parking go to MTCC Parking or Click Here to view the MTCC location in downtown Toronto. To access the event by TCC go to the TTC Web Site.
YOGA, the Conference and Show will be held in the North Building of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre located at 255 Front St West, Toronto, ON M5V 2W6
Mats, props and food will be available for sale from Friday March 23-March 24, 2013 on the Show Floor. We strongly suggest that you bring your own yoga mat, blanket, belt, blocks and what ever other yoga prop you might normally use for your practice. YOGA, the Conference and Show will not provide these items.
A variety of food vendors are available on the show floor to delight in offering you a delicious hot or cold healthy meal or snack, please see show floor hours. Meals are not included in conference prices and must be purchased separately.
Certificate of Attendance: there is a $13.00 fee for a certificate of attendance. Most Certificate Hours of this conference or workshop will be commensurate with OYA, Yoga Alliance Continuing education credit, and Can Fit Pro – you must check with your professional organization for further information. You will need to hold onto it until you are asked.
All requests for refunds must be made in writing and mailed to YOGA, the Conference and Show P.O. Box 58039, Rossland RPO, Oshawa, ON L1J 8L6. A refund minus 30% processing and administration fee, will be issued for all cancellation requests postmarked by February 18, 2013. All requests for refunds must acknowledge an understanding of the 30% processing and administration fee. Refund requests postmarked after February 18 2013 will require a Personal Medical Certificate in order to be considered for a voucher to be used toward YOGA, the Conference and Show 2014. No vouchers are to be guaranteed or assumed after February 18 2013. After February 18, 2013, only submission of Personal Medical certificates applying directly to the person of the registered attendee will be accepted and is mandatory. No family or friend medical certificates will be considered. If a voucher request is accepted, it will be minus 30% processing and administration fee. Please note that there will be no refund or vouchers issued for no shows under any circumstances. All accepted vouchers are only valid for 2014.
In the unlikely event that a session is cancelled or the instructor is unable to attend due to illness or unforeseeable circumstances, participants must be aware that no refunds can be provided. Yoga the Conference and Show will permit participants to either change to another class or be provided with a credit of the equivalent hours on their account.
